William V. (Bill) Buzzard

William V. (Bill) Buzzard, 97, of Linesville, passed away, Sunday, January 26, 2014, at Rolling Fields in Conneautville, where he had resided for the past 2 years.

Born February 14, 1916, in Braddock, he was the son of William and Molly Ann Buzzard.  He married Clara Mae “Mazie” Buzzard on November 16, 1939, in Braddock; she preceded him in death on November 30, 2003.

In his younger years, he worked at a Civilian Conservation Corps Camp for a year.  Bill then worked for 15 years for Edgar Thomson Steel Mill in Pittsburgh. For 25 years, he worked as a maintenance and production supervisor for Toteline Molded Fiber Glass Tray Company in Linesville.

He was a member of St. Philip Roman Catholic Church in Linesville.

Bill was a lifetime member of the Pymatuning Sportsman’s Club in Linesville and was the club’s oldest member.  He loved being outdoors gardening, hunting and was an avid golfer.  Bill enjoyed tinkering with small engine repairs and had fixed many family and friends lawnmowers.  He will be greatly missed by his family.

Survivors include, three sons, William R. Buzzard of Linesville, Michael A. Buzzard of Linesville, and Albert Regis Buzzard and his wife, Debbie, of Port Orchard, Washington; 9 grandchildren, Regina Roberts, Derrick W. Buzzard, Tracy Reynolds, Lisa Sherretts, Lori Buzzard, Deanna Buzzard, Joshua Buzzard, James Buzzard and Julianna Anderson; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Alice Dorn and her husband, Matt, of Murrysville; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, five siblings, one great grandson, Austin James Sherretts, and two daughter-in-laws, Rita J. Buzzard and Marilyn J. Buzzard.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Philip Roman Catholic Church, 401 S. Mercer St., Linesville, with Father Chris Hamlett as celebrant.

Burial will be private in St. Philip Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Philip Roman Catholic Church.
