William (Bill) Marshall Peake, 72, of Espyville, passed away on May 14, 2020, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center, after a courageous battle with a brief illness.
Born August 2, 1947, in Ashtabula, he was the son of William and Frances (Dratwa) Peake.
Bill served our country in the United States Marine Corps from 1966 until honorably discharged in 1969. He was wounded in Vietnam and received a Purple Heart. He also received a Sharp Shooter Badge, Good Conduct Medal and National Defense Medal. He had worked in auto body and as a semi-truck driver.
He loved spending time with his family and his dog Buddy. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
Survivors include his loving wife, whom he married on December 10, 2002, Kathy Peake; step-children, Kimberly Miller, Kelly Barabas and Dan Buchanan and his wife, Shelly, all of Espyville; four grandchildren, Adam Nesbitt and his wife, Janyl, Kayla Barabas, Katelyn Barabas and D.J. Buchanan; two daughters, Angela and Christine Peake; a sister, Patty LeRoy; and a brother, James and his wife, Sheila, both of South Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a step-father, George Corbin.
A private memorial graveside service with full military honors will be at a later date in Espyville Cemetery.
