William (Neil) Edwin Bentley, 91, of Espyville, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, December 6, 2021, at St. Paul’s Senior Living Community in Greenville.
Born September 22, 1930, in Guys Mills, he was the son of Archie and Lucille (Hoyt) Bentley. He married Ruth Devore on May 26, 1956 in North Springfield. She preceded him in death on March 3, 2021.
He was a graduate of North Shenango High School in 1948. Neil served our country in the United States Air Force from 1950 until he was honorably discharged in 1955. For most of his life, Neil was a Holstein dairy farmer and had a great love for all animals. Upon retiring from farming in 1985, he worked for Maynard Speir setting up manufactured housing.
He was a very active member of the North Shenango Presbyterian Church in Espyville, a former member of the Jamestown Lions Club, enjoyed cutting wood, driving his John Deere B and collecting John Deere memorabilia, and was always ready to go for coffee or breakfast with the "the gang" in the morning or after church. Neil will always be remembered for his sense of humor and joke telling ability - remembering EVERY JOKE HE EVER HEARD.
Survivors include; two daughters, Geri Godina and her husband, Frank, of Espyville and LuAnn Lobins and her husband, Craig, of Conneaut Lake; a son, Scott Bentley of Zelienople; three grandchildren, Todd Lobins and his wife, Allena, Tracy Moore and her husband, Jake, and Sarah Bentley and her fiancé Mark Miller; a great-grandson, Liam; two step-grandchildren, Cory Godina and Chad Godina and his wife Shellie; two sisters, Ruth Clute (Vickery) and her husband, Ernie, of Andover, Ohio and Norma Fath of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.
