Cathy Adams-Whitcomb, 74, of Sandy Lake, entered her heavenly home with Jesus on Thursday, February 23, 2017, at the Marquette Hospice House in Meadville, after a valiant six month battle with lung cancer.

Born August 21, 1942, in Grove City, she was the daughter of John Snyder and raised by William Carl and her mother Virginia (McGill) Richards. She married George Whitcomb on December of 1997.

She was a graduate of Grove City High School.

Cathy was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Greenville.

She volunteered as a cook for Meals on Wheels in Sandy Lake for many years.

Cathy had a deep faith in her savior Jesus Christ and was a devoted prayer warrior. She was very patriotic and loved her country.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and cherished her grandchildren.

She loved the outdoors and nature.  Cathy enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, bird watching, camping, and riding motorcycles.  She and George spent many hours fishing the stumps at Lake Wilhelm.  Cathy had a love for animals and greatly enjoyed her dog Rosebud.

Survivors include her husband George Whitcomb of Sandy Lake; a daughter, Laurel Andrews and her husband, Thomas, of Cambridge Springs; a son, Steve Pugliese and his wife, Stacy, of Hartstown; three grandchildren, Maria Pugliese of Cambridge Springs, Sophia and Simon Pugliese of Hartstown; a brother, Jeff Richards and his wife, Peggy, of Edinboro; a sister-in-law, Ann O’Neil and her husband, Willard, of Erie; two nieces, Kelly Latimer and Kelly O’Neil; three nephews, Brian and Scott Richards and Patrick O’Neil.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Thomas Andrews Jr.; and a brother, William Richards.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Cathy’s name to American Cancer Society, (donate3.cancer.org) 505 Poplar St., Suite 310 or the Marquette Hospice House, 13465 N. Wayland Rd., both of Meadville, Pa 16335.

Arrangements are under the direction of Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.
