Irene P. (Palahunik) Hoovler

Irene P. Hoovler, 94, of Shermansville, passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2018, at Rolling Fields in Conneautville.

Born March 1, 1924, in Sadsbury Township, she was the daughter of Charles and Katherine Prislupski Palahunik.  She married Francis Hoovler on October 26, 1946, in Sharon.  He preceded her in death on November 5, 1995.

She was a 1941 graduate of Conneaut Lake High School and then attended Erie Commercial College.

Irene worked at American Viscose and then at Niagara Therapy.

She was a member of the SS. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church in Crossingville.

Irene enjoyed being outdoors mowing the lawn.

Survivors include two sons, Lyle Hoovler and his wife, Mary Lou, of Shermansville and Larry Hoovler and his wife, Diane, of Harmonsburg; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret Prince of Saegertown.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; three sisters, Mary Litwiler, Julia Klenovich and Katherine Bielobocky; and a brother, George Palahunik.

Calling hours will be on Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, 25636 North Mosiertown Rd., Crossingville.

An Orthodox Christian Funeral will follow at 11a.m. with Rev. Father Daniel Mathewson as celebrant.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Harmonsburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the SS. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, 25636 North Mosiertown Rd., Edinboro, Pa 16412.

Arrangements are under the direction of Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.
