Mary J. (Shacklock) Simpson

Mary J. (Shacklock) Simpson, 74, of Linesville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at her residence.

Born January 7, 1949, she was the daughter of Roy and Neva (Carr) Shacklock.

She attended Jamestown High School.  Mary worked as a kitchen manager and chef at the Elks Lodge #219 in Meadville.

Mary loved fishing, playing card games, sewing and baking especially Christmas cookies.  The most important thing in her life was spending time with her family and she cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her loving husband, Robert R. Simpson, who she married on August 26, 1989; three sons, Joseph (Mary) Shaw, Jason (Connie) Shaw, and Robert R. Simpson Jr.; two daughters, Christina (Jason) Stanhope and Cindy (Dean) Graham; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; four siblings, Howard Shacklock, Judy Leonhart, Gayl Aicher and Peggy Speir; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three siblings, Roy Shacklock, Ellen Shacklock and Joseph Shacklock; and three nieces, Shelly, Cindy and Wendy.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, November 15 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.  Additional calling will be on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home before the funeral service.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, November 16 at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Yolanda Barco Oncology Institute, Hospice of Crawford County, St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the American Cancer Society.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the wonderful people at Hospice of Crawford County and the Yolanda Barco Center for their kindness and loving care they provided to Mary.
