William Louden Gordon

William Louden Gordon, 91, of Jamestown, passed away, Thursday, January 22, 2015, at his residence after a brief illness.

Born November 18, 1923, in Hanlin Station, Pa, he was the son of John and Gladys Watson Gordon.  He married Nellie Means on October 20, 1946 and she preceded him in death on November 23, 1987.

Bill served our country during World War II from 1943 until he was honorable discharged in 1945 and was stationed in Germany and France.

After 32 years, he retired from General Motors in Cleveland as a tool sharpener machinist in 1983.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Andover, Ohio.  Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working with his hands fixing things.

Survivors include a daughter, D’Ann Cozad and her husband, Gregory, of Espyville; two granddaughters, Dawn LaCava and her husband, Jeremy, of Penn Hills, Pa and Ashley Shelatz of Mayfield Heights, Ohio; two great-grandchildren, Joshua and Danika LaCava; two sisters, Jackie Warnick of Washington, Pa and Lila Sheldon and her husband, Ralph, of Wheeling, West Virginia; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Fleming, Ted, Sidney and John Gordon.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. at Kepner Funeral Home, 1308 Chapline St., Wheeling, West Virginia.

A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Joel Richter of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wheeling officiating.

Burial with military honors provided by the Moundsville Honor Guard will be in Parkview Memorial Gardens in Wheeling.

Local arrangements are under the direction of Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.
